The 1962 New Jersey Governor Cup Races were sailed at Riverton, N.J. on the Delaware in a perfect sailing setting with light air and medium wind conditions. The Thistle fleet of 54 vessels performed superbly, with Kaighn Smith excelling in heavy weather.
