Association President John Lovett has appointed secretaries to all seven districts, completing the T.C.A. organizational structure. This move enables Larry Waldrip's Development Committee to promote district growth and launches plans for mailing owner lists, organizing fleets, instituting championship competitions, and implementing a national point-scoring system.

The Mentor Harbor Y.C. fleet held time-trial races on May 16th with four of their seven boats competing. Dr. George Sackett won the first race with son Jack, followed by Jim Nicoll and Larry Waldrip. Nicoll won the second race, with several newcomers to the fleet showing promise in their 1948 campaign.

The Western Long Island Sound Fleet has been chartered as the first official fleet in eastern waters, comprising six boats in the New Rochelle-Mamaroneck-Larchmont sector. Fleet Captain B.S. Kittelle and Secretary Nathaniel Beck have organized the fleet, which will participate in Y.R.A. races each Saturday and Sunday.

Six Thistles at Cleveland Y.C. have constructed protective rafts for their boats following the loss of the Toledo and Sandusky fleets, shielding them from north-west storms and oily waters caused by a recent crude oil line break in the river.
