The Association held a Special Meeting in Cleveland, Ohio on April 21, 1951, with detailed minutes covering ratification of the Chief Measurer appointment, constitutional amendments governing National Championships, and approval of the Miles River Yacht Club as the 1951 National Championships site. Jack Snell's challenge about the committee's authority was addressed and the site selection was approved 182 to 19.

President Herrmann announces the appointment of Dick Brainard (Chairman), Frank LeBoutillier, and Tony Herrmann to the Nominating Committee to prepare a slate of officers for the 1951-1952 season. Active members may propose additional nominations through the Secretary for publication in the Bagpipe at least one month before the Annual Meeting.

Ray Milliken announces that the Biscayne Bay Yacht Club will host its Spring Series sailing event on the four Saturdays in May and the first two Saturdays in June, with an invitation to all Thistles to participate.

The District Secretary announces that the 1951 Lake Erie District Eliminations will be held at Mentor Harbor Yacht Club on Saturday, August 4th and Sunday, August 5th, with full details to be forthcoming.

The District Secretary reports that the Long Island Sound District Championships will be held in conjunction with the 5-day Manhasset Bay Race Week Series from September 5th through September 9th.
