Les Heyer of the Flying Scots Fleet has been appointed Chairman of the THISTLE Class Publicity Committee. He will coordinate with District Secretaries to improve publicity for class activities and serve as a central clearinghouse for monthly releases to yachting publications.

The Winter Meeting

Since there is no major business to conduct, the Association will hold a Winter Social Meeting in New York during Boat Show week on January 12th at the Princeton-Brown Club. A Dutch Treat Cocktail Party and Dinner will be held, with color movies and slides of past Nationals shown. Attendees must notify Wally Lineburgh in advance.

Tony Herrmann reports on the Lake Michigan District Championships held with a championship series and consolation series. Three races were sailed over 7-mile and 6 1/4-mile courses. Herrmann's STICKERS (32) won the championship series, and Tony Herrmann was elected the new District Secretary.

The Eastern Connecticut Y.R.A. Regatta

Seven THISTLEs raced at Pine Orchard, Connecticut on August 3-5. Dick Brainard and his BR'ER FOX (545) dominated the regatta with two first-place finishes and a second, accumulating 20 1/2 points to win the trophy. Favorable racing conditions with fresh breezes and good weather.
