The editor thanks Y. E. Soderberg for creating a Christmas card for the Bagpipe and extends personal and collective good wishes to all members for the happiest New Year in 1952, hoping for sunny skies, fair winds, and first-place finishes.

The National Secretary Bob Adams has been traveling abroad but maintains association operations through delegates. The article emphasizes that 1952 dues are due January 1st and must be paid individually or members will be removed from the Bagpipe mailing list by February 1st. Crew members are encouraged to become Associate Members.

Fleet Reports are due in January and are required for renewal of Fleet Charters. Failure to submit reports results in mandatory suspension. The article provides a recommended tabular format for submitting the reports and explains what information should be included.

Les Heyer of the Flying Scots Fleet has been appointed Chairman of the THISTLE Class Publicity Committee. He will coordinate with District Secretaries to improve publicity for class activities and serve as a central clearinghouse for monthly releases to yachting publications.

Since there is no major business to conduct, the Association will hold a Winter Social Meeting in New York during Boat Show week on January 12th at the Princeton-Brown Club. A Dutch Treat Cocktail Party and Dinner will be held, with color movies and slides of past Nationals shown. Attendees must notify Wally Lineburgh in advance.

Tony Herrmann reports on the Lake Michigan District Championships held with a championship series and consolation series. Three races were sailed over 7-mile and 6 1/4-mile courses. Herrmann's STICKERS (32) won the championship series, and Tony Herrmann was elected the new District Secretary.

Seven THISTLEs raced at Pine Orchard, Connecticut on August 3-5. Dick Brainard and his BR'ER FOX (545) dominated the regatta with two first-place finishes and a second, accumulating 20 1/2 points to win the trophy. Favorable racing conditions with fresh breezes and good weather.

Editor comments on Sody's table of marine etchings, describing them as outstanding works suitable for club decorations or gifts. A new smaller THISTLE etching priced at $5.00 is coming soon, which Sody has generously offered to provide for publication in the Bagpipe.
